I've just released a game here on itch.io. Go check it out if you like:
About me
My journey into computing began in 1986 when I was ten years old and a Commodore C64 landed in my room. Suddenly I no longer wanted to become a crane operator, but a "computer guy".
Although I hacked in a few simple BASIC commands, I didn’t truly learn to code on the C64—a regret in hindsight. But a few years later I got my hands on a “powerful” PC XT with CGA graphics. Combined with what I learned at school using Borland’s Turbo Pascal, I soon started creating the most useful apps and programs you can imagine… or at least I thought so.
It wasn’t long before my classmates and I outpaced our teachers in Pascal, leaving them wondering, "What are we doing here?" It was a great time.
Then the first PC AT with VGA/MCGA graphics arrived.
256 colors at 320×200 pixels!
PHOTO REALISM!
These days, I work as a software engineer with long-standing experience in C#, Python, cloud systems, and all the other boring business stuff. Don’t get me wrong—I enjoy solving problems and building clean software using modern tools.
But games have always stayed close to my heart. After years of tinkering with the Godot Engine, I finally committed to creating a retro-inspired isometric adventure as it might have existed on the C64.
The result is Cosmo Blue: A Space-Odor Mystery, my homage to the “breadbox” that started it all. You can find it here on itch.io.
Below are screenshots of games I made in the wild 1990s, back when we could still address the VGA hardware registers directly. Good old days.
